Changing plans
Billing in the sidebar. Owners and admins can change the plan.
- First paid plan: you are taken to Stripe Checkout to enter a card. Nothing is charged before that page.
- Upgrading an existing subscription: VaultKeep shows you Stripe's prorated calculation, including the credit for unused time on your current plan and the amount charged today, and asks you to confirm. Nothing is charged until you do. If the payment fails, the plan does not change.
- Downgrading between paid plans: takes effect at the end of the current period; unused time is credited to your next invoice. You are shown the warnings that apply (fewer projects, shorter retention, storage sync off) before confirming.
- Cancelling (downgrade to Free): you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free. Backups beyond Free's 7-day retention are deleted on the next nightly sweep. Projects beyond the limit stop backing up, oldest first kept.
- Monthly ↔ yearly: use Manage subscription, which opens Stripe's customer portal.
Invoices and cards
Manage subscription opens the Stripe customer portal for invoices, receipts, changing the card and updating billing details. Card numbers never touch VaultKeep.
Refunds
See the Refund Policy: 14-day money-back on your first paid subscription, and fair handling after that.
Billing history
The Billing page lists every plan change and payment event from the audit log, including who made it.
Still stuck? Email support@vaultkeep.dev with your project name (never your connection string) and we'll take a look.
